Group Description
This group is designed to empower middle schoolers experiencing anxiety by blending creativity, self-expression, and skill-building to support their interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, and emotional growth.
Through interactive activities and creative exploration, participants will:
Learn to identify and express emotions in mindful and creative ways.
Enhance their relationships with peers by building empathy and practicing perspective-taking, cooperation, and compromise.
Foster self-confidence and self-acceptance in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Explore artistic mediums to encourage self-discovery and meaningful self-expression.
Clinical Team
Ida Piker, Psy.D., is a postdoctoral fellow at Interactive Discovery, specializes in trauma-informed therapy for children, adolescents, and families. Her integrative approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic methods, and creative techniques like play and art therapy. Dr. Piker has extensive experience working with youth facing depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and emotional dysregulation, with a focus on neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQ+-inclusive care. She emphasizes collaboration with families and building strong therapeutic relationships to foster resilience and healing.
