Social Skills Group for 3rd-5th Grade Boys

Group Description

An 8-week group for 3rd-5th grade boys seeking support with interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, and emotion regulation skills.

In this group, your child will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn how to identify and express their emotions in playful and creative ways

  • Improve their relationships with others through perspective-taking and conflict-resolution strategies

  • Practice mindfulness skills to support self-regulation

  • Learn self-advocacy tools that incorporate their unique communication style, preferences, and strengths

Clinical Team

Ida Piker, Psy.D., is a post-doctoral fellow at Interactive Discovery, specializes in trauma-informed therapy for children, adolescents, and families. Her integrative approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic methods, and creative techniques like play and art therapy. Dr. Piker has extensive experience working with youth facing depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and emotional dysregulation, with a focus on neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQ+-inclusive care. She emphasizes collaboration with families and building strong therapeutic relationships to foster resilience and healing.
