Shine and Connect: An Interactive Camp for 3rd-5th Grade Girls

Group Description

A 5-day camp for 3rd-5th grade girls looking for support with interpersonal relationships, self-esteem, and emotion regulation skills through play, creative expression, mindfulness, movement and other fun activities.

In this camp, your child will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn how to identify and express their emotions and engage the mind-body connection.

  • Improve their relationships with others through empathy building, perspective taking, and conversation skills.

  • Practice conflict-resolution skills by learning how to regulate their body and emotions, self-reflect and communicate with others effectively.

Clinical Team

Sara ElMakawy, LCSW, has over eight years of comprehensive experience working with children, adults, and families. Sara’s therapeutic approach is person-centered, holistic, and trauma-informed. She profoundly values building positive therapeutic relationships with her clients. Sara creates an environment for clients to feel connected, safe, and empowered to facilitate hope, healing, and self-efficacy.

Kim Hedaya, LCAT, uses a blend of nonverbal and verbal therapies to help children, adolescents, teens, parents, and families. Her trauma-informed approach draws upon humanistic and attachment theories, and she integrates mindfulness and creative practices into her work. Kim specializes in anxiety, behavioral challenges, trauma, divorce, illness, grief, and loss. She focuses on strengthening the mental well-being of both parent and child to nurture their relationship, supporting families from prenatal care through the challenges of parenthood.
